Who we are
Cat skiing in the Accursed Mountains of Albania.
Freeride Albania is a cat-ski operation based in Doberdol, Northern Albania. We run guided 7-night trips from January to March for groups of up to 12. Founded in 2024.
About us
Freeride Albania operates out of Doberdol — a plateau in the Accursed Mountains on the Kosovo border, at 1,800 metres altitude. The area covers 7 square kilometres of skiable terrain, with ridgelines up to 2,500 metres and ski touring access to Gjeravica at 2,600 metres.
We run cat-ski tours using two Pistenbully 600 machines. Each trip is 7 nights, with 6 days of skiing. Maximum 12 guests per slot. One group at a time — no shared terrain, no other operations in the area.
The guesthouse is basic: three bedrooms, indoor bathrooms, a shared kitchen and drying room. Originally a summer facility on the Peaks of the Balkans trail, winterised specifically for our operation.
Season runs January through March. Transfers available from Pristina, Tirana, and Skopje.
The company was founded by Bardhosh Morina, a skier from Kosovo with extensive knowledge of the terrain. He collected a group of like-minded freeriders together. Albanian national Pavlin Polia, the Kosovar tour agency Balkan Natural Adventure and Dutch social enterpreneur Peter Hofman. The founding team is handling regional operations.
Freeride Albania is registered as an LLC in Albania, with headquarters in Shkodër. All guides are certified and carry full avalanche safety equipment on every tour.
The 2024/25 season was our first. In 2025/2026 we have operated a full season with back-to-back groups. The 2026/27 season is now open for bookings.
